State Will not Take Compensation Back

The Interior Ministry took action not to take the compensation paid to a veteran soldier back.

A written statement by the Ministry said that, the 57 billion TL compensation paid to Sergeant Kazim Dasbas who lost his two legs in 1998 in a mine explosion, will not be demanded from him.

After today's dailies reported that the State demanded the money back, the Ministry said today that the money will not be demanded from Dasbas on grounds of "avoiding a negative impact on the motivation and morale of the armed forces, even if the law suit had rightful justifications."
