Impossible With the Mentality of Letter
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan asked from U.S. President George Bush to take action in a way to make UN Secretary General Kofi Annan milden his conditions regarding the Cyprus issue. 
Referendum on April 21

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan determined the calendar to solve the Cyprus issue, which has been pending for 40 years. Annan decided that the talks on the issue should start on February 10 in New York and bargains should be completed by the end of March. Thereby, the resulting document will be placed to a referendum on April 21.

Five Dead Bodies Hugging One Another

The death toll in the collapse of the 11-storey Zumrut building in Konya, rose to 48. According to the Konya Governor there are still 85 people under debris. 5 dead bodies extracted yesterday morning were hugging each other. This picture upset everyone.

UEFA decided that the final matches of the 2005 Champions’ League would take place in Turkey. The Executive Board of UEFA, which gathered in Switzerland, decided to hold the final matches of the 2005 Champions’ League in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

2 Trillions Of Telsim Hidden From BDDK
It was found out that Uzans, whose properties and income are under precautionary measures because of the Imar Bank case, hid 2 trillion TL of income of Telsim, which is the GSM company of the Uzan Group, from the Banking Regulating Board (BDDK).  
Gul Went Instead Of Erdogan
Representing the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul joined the annual congress of the European Christian Democrat Parties (EPP) in Brussels. Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan was foreseen to attend the congress of this organization, which approaches to Turkey’s membership to EU, negatively. 
Sezer: No Secularism, No Freedom
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, who issued a written statement on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the inclusion of the principle of secularism in the Constitution, said that everyone’s freedom of religion was protected in a secular regime. Sezer said, “However, if individuals use their beliefs for political ends, this cannot be accepted.” 
No Worship in Military Uniform
The Military Higher Administrative Court adopted the decision of the lower court to expel a non-commissioned officer, who went to a mosque wearing a uniform, in Ardahan. The court stated that the decision was taken to prevent the case to be used as a political propaganda tool against the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).

Ilhan Mansiz, one of the most prominent players of Besiktas soccer team, agreed to play in the Japanese Vissel Kobe team. The first thing that his new team demanded from Mansiz is to cut his hair similar to that of Samurais.
