Unakitan: No Problem With IMF, Tupras Decision Next Week

Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said that upcoming local polls would not affect relations with IMF. Asked whether the second part of the 7th Review talks will be postponed to post-election period.

Unakitan said, “It does not matter. We are working on the 7th Review at the moment any way. We will continue to do so this week and next week.” According to Unakitan, the second part of the 7th Review could be concluded before elections.

On the Tupras tender, Unakitan said that the completion of the signatures approving the decision of the Privatization High Board might be postponed to next week or later because of the South Korea visit of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan. Moreover, Unakitan stated that the 2004 privatization program might be announced next week.
