“When considering the steps taken by Washington nowadays, one should keep in mind the fact that elections are approaching in U.S… The Washington visit of the Turkish Prime Minister in this critical period should be evaluated in this respect and no one should have high expectations.
“… The way in which the Prime Minister was welcomed in Washington refuted the theses of those, who claimed that Turkey would be ruined during the crisis with U.S. following the rejection of the March 1 permit. However, ignoring the realities of the election climate in U.S. and expecting too much from this visit, is not realistic either.”
