Time for Serious Negotiations now

Greek Cypriot leader Tasos Papadopulous said that time has come for serious talks to solve the Cyprus issue. At a joint press conference with EU Commission President Romano Prodi in Brussels, he said that they wanted Cyprus to enter EU as a whole.

On his part, Romano Prodi said that the EU will help a settlement in the island.

Papadopulous said that he agreed with Prodi that a window of opportunity was opened in Cyprus, and his administration was ready to hold negotiations free of any precondition..
