PKK-KADEK Surprise Of U.S.

Right ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, White House Administration announced that U.S. included KONGRA-GEL, which is an extension of PKK-KADEK, in her list of terrorist organizations. In their meeting, U.S. President George Bush told Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan that they would not let PKK live in Northern Iraq any more.

Following this meeting, Erdogan told journalists, “The important point is taking this decision. The rest is just detail.” He also reminded that Turkey and U.S. were jointly working to evacuate the Mahmur Camp in Northern Iraq, which is one of the most important shelters of PKK militants.

Meanwhile, ahead of the meeting of Erdogan and Bush in the White House, Paul Bremer, the civilian administrator of U.S. in Iraq, issued a written statement promising to take harsh measures vis-à-vis PKK-KADEK/KONGRA-GEL. Bremer said; There is no place for terrorists in the new Iraq.
