South East Surprise of EU
Turkey reacted at the fact that EU for the first time mentioned a specific region, namely South East Anatolia, in an official document with regard to human rights problems. Formerly, expectations pertaining to that topic used to be expressed in general terms.

75-Year-Old Budget System Changed
The new arrangement on budget, which is called “the Financial Constitution,” was adopted in the midnight session of Parliament. The delay in the enactment of the Public Financial Administration Law, which was put forward by IMF as a precondition to approve the 6th Review, had caused disturbance within the government.  
OECD: Turkey Will Set Records of Growth
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) stated that Turkey would most probably attain the fastest economic growth among member countries, with a growth level of 5%.  
13 New Corridors in Aegean Airspace
The problems between Greece and Turkey over the airspace of the Aegean were solved through negotiations. The talks in Paris, which were carried out under the coordination of the International Civil Aviation Organization, resulted in the decision to open 13 new air corridors over Aegean. The corridors will be operational by December 25.  
France: We Copied Turkey Regarding Turban
The commission, which was set up in France to analyze secular practices in the country, advised to prohibit religious and political symbols, such as turban, in “public places.” Bernard Stasi, the Head of the Commission, said; Turkey became a model for us. I must congratulate your (the Turkish) state for it succeeded to establish such a balance in a Moslem country.  
Blow On YOK
The draft motion, which was prepared by the Inter-University Board to be submitted to the government, foresees to reduce the powers of the Higher Education Board (YOK) to a great extent, similar to the motions prepared by the government on the issue. According to the draft, YOK, which will turn into a coordination and planning institution, will be dependent on the Inter-University Board and universities.
