The theology faculty, which was founded in Eskisehir 8 years ago through political pressure, has a building, academicians, personnel, but no students. The Osmangazi University Theology Faculty was founded 8 years ago. Following its foundation, a dean, academicians, and administrative staff were appointed to the faculty.

The single flaw of the faculty is that it has no students. Not even a single student attended the faculty since its foundation. The Higher Education Board (YOK) approved its foundation but did not let it to accept students on grounds that there was no need for that. The University Senate appealed to YOK for the past 6 years so as to accept students to the Theology Faculty. However, all these appeals were rejected. Annual expenses of the faculty amount to 100 billion TL. On the overall, 7 thousand students are attending 22 theology faculties throughout Turkey.
