"Personnel in that lounge are serving these as very important persons, instead of asking them to give account. We are decorating these with medals, for the good theft they have made!"
Cemil Cicek said about the man whom he saw that, "I saw the man: his clothes had no difference from the ones he wore before his bank went bankrupt. He smelled like a parfume shop and his shoes were good enough to pay the monthly salary of a clerk. The chief prosecutor of Istanbul and Ankara can not enter that lounge. We are now paying the cost of the money looted by this man."
During the talks at the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Commission, Cicek said that they were trying to make the necessary legal arrangements to carry out an "Overall fight" against corruption and "In no state of law, there is the right to rob the people."
Cicek also recalled that according to the citizens, looters are living free and comfortably, while a man who stole a simit ( a round pastry, like bread) is put into prison.
Cicek also gave a striking exomple to the contradiction, saying that "The easiest thing is to get a medal from the state. You may steal 50 trillion TL. Then construct a school at a cost of one trillion TL. Then we decorate this person with a model for "Constructing a school with his theft." Then this person receives all his life, service from the VIP lounge. Unless these people are punished, Turkey will continue experiencing such strage things."
Cicek added that "The smartest of those who were trained to serve the nation, are serving the ones who are involved in irregularities. Therefore, we shall specialize. We shall set up specialist prosecutor's offices and courts to fight corruption."
CEM UZAN
Cicek said "Cem Uzan came to me, as well as other bank looters. The families of those on death strike also came to me. I meet everyone. During my talk with Uzan, I had officials beside me; I do not meet these people alone. I told him that their payments must be accelerated and they must repay their debt."
PM ERDOGAN ON BOARD THE LOOTER'S HELICOPTER
However, during the budget commission meeting CHPS deputy Ali Kemal Kumkumoglu said that "Has not Halis Toprak had his bank gone bankrupt? Did not PM Erdogan use Toprak's helicopter during his election rallies? He says that the helicopter was rented. Could you not find any other helicopter to rent?"
