Warrant of Arrest for Uzans
A warrant of arrest was issued for Kemal and Yavuz Uzan in the absentia of them on the basis of the Imar Bank case. 
Edelman: We Expect Military Contribution of Turkey
In his meeting with Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Eric Edelman said that they would be pleased if Turkey sent troops to Iraq. Edelman said that Turkey and U.S. were strategic partners and this mentality would remain as such. Gul said that the government was tackling the issue of sending troops to Iraq both in itself and together with the General Staff. Gul told Edelman, “Your presence in Turkey, as a close working friend of Deputy President Dick Cheney, is a reflection of the importance U.S. attaches to Turkey." 
National View Is In Protocol
Yavuz Cetin Karahan, Leader of Islamist organization National View (IGMG) and Oguz Ucuncu, Secretary General of the same group, will also attend the meeting of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan with the representatives of Turkish associations in Berlin, within the framework of the decision of the Foreign Ministry to “embrace all our citizens." 
Turkey Is On Right Track
Five banks, coordinated by German West LB, extended a loan of 75 million dollars to Dogus Holding, which will be repaid in one year. Ferit Sahenk, Chairman of Board of Directors, said, “Turkey is on the right track. The support of the banks, which extended credit to us, shows this.” 
BDDK Is Selling Sabah and ATV
The Banking regulating Board (BDDK) will sell the title rights of 53 media institution belonging to the Bilgin Group, in order to pay the debts of the Etibank, which was transferred to the Savings Insurance Fund. BDDK asked for the latest information regarding the title rights of these institutions including Sabah daily and ATV. 
Spain Changes the Fate of Balat
The Municipality of Barcelona won the EU bid for the protection of cultural heritage in Balat, Istanbul. If the project succeeds, Istanbul’s other historical districts will be restored and repaired. After Istanbul was included in 1985, into the UNESCO Convention for Protecting the World Heritage, feasibility work was carried out in historical Balat in 1997. At present, the Spanish team is carrying out the project under EU supervision and the Fatih Municipality is providing technical infrastructure.  
Humanitarian Assistance from Turkey to Iraq
While the process of decision-making to send troops to Iraq is still under way, Turkey is trying to win the hearts of the Iraqi people. The Foreign Ministry took the first steps to treat those Iraqi patients, whose diseases cannot be treated in Iraq, in the hospitals in Ankara and Istanbul. 
“Solution Room” For Crisis in Kirkuk
An agreement was reached to end the tension between Tukomans and Kurds in Kirkuk. A committee was set up to investigate into the events leading to the killing of 13 Turkomans following the attacks on a sacred turbah of them. A “solution room” was also opened within the committee. 
Warning, Not Threat, From Rectors
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and rectors tackled the controversial Higher Education Motion on Wednesday. Even though Erdogan and Education Minister Huseyin Celik announced that they agreed with them, the rectors denied the existence of any agreement. 
Asparuk: We Are Still Dealing With Turban
Air Forces Commander Gen. Cumhur Asparuk transferred his post over to Ibrahim Firtina with a ceremony in which President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan were also present. Asparuk, who delivered a speech in the ceremony, drew attention to the importance of the information age. Asparuk said, “While others are controlling the world from space, we are still dealing with the Blue Stream, Preachers’ Schools, Turban, religious sects, and clothes used in other cultures, as if we are living a hundred years ago. We are living in the information age. Those, who control the information and use it correctly, will control the world." 
Daily of Uzans Also Disintegrate
The decline of the Uzan family, which started with Motorola and Nokia cases abroad and CEAS and Kepez in Turkey, and continued with the confiscation of the Imar Bank, is also reflected in their daily, Star. Cem Uzan, Chairman of Young Party (GP) delivered a speech for the employees of Star daily on Tuesday.
