A Greek Cypriot, in his letter to Greek Cypriot Leader Tasos Papadopulos, stated that if the credit debts were not frozen, he would apply to Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas to compensate for his properties, which remained in the Turkish side.

Harvagi daily wrote that the Greek Cypriot asked that the debts stemming from the loans extended by the “Institution of Equally Sharing Losses” should be frozen until a political solution was found for the Cyprus problem. Papadopulos confirmed the letter and said that the issue of freezing the debts would be tackled.
