At a press conference yesterday, Minister Guler said that the confiscation of the plants of Uzans were being drawn to the political area, by the family , but, the issue was legal, rather than being political.
Explaining the reasons of confiscation, Minister Guler said that the CEAS and KEPEZ had failed to fulfill their responsibilities in spite of being warned several times both verbally and in written form.
He said, "They made the maintenance of the contracts unbearable, by causing problems in their relations with third persons and the public companies" he said, describing the attitude of the companies as "uncompromising."
Accusing the company of causing big loss on the public because of the failure of the companies to pay the regular tariff in return of the electric power they received from the state, Minister Guler said that "^They also evaded their due payments to the (public enterprise) TETAS for the electric supply."
Guler went on to say that the companies of Uzans have turned their perferential contract and rights into a monopoly, preventing the other companies in the field from transmitting electric energy.
He said that the Enegry Ministry was authorized to cancel any contract in case the other side fails in fulfilling its responsibilities under the contract.
