A brazier controversy emerged in Berlin with the arrival of the summer because of those people making picnics with braziers in the green fields. The opposition party Christian Democrat Union (CDU) launched a campaign with the slogan of “Yes to picnic, no to brazier!”

Turks living in Berlin prefer to make picnics by firing their braziers in the Tiergarten Park that is located just next to the Bellevue Palace, which is the Presidential Residence. President Rau had said that he was not disturbed from the braziers in the area.
