In his meeting with Rifat Hisarciklioglu, the President of the Turkish Chambers and Bourses Union (TOBB), IMF Turkey Desk Chief Juha Kahkonen said that if all the developments continued in a positive way and Turkey ensured the necessary foreign capital and foreign financing, there would be no necessity for IMF sources after 2004.

Kahkonen said that there was no apparent problem about attaining the macro economic and inflation targets but he also said that they were against pardons about the debts of the people to the state. Kahkonen said that he expected the conclusion of the 5th Review negotiations on Friday.
