Papandoniu accuses Turkey
Greek Defense Minister Yannos Papandoniu claimed that Turkey continuously violated the Greek air zone to create tension in the Aegean Sea and the Turkish army acted independent from the Turkish government.
We fly without arms and report our flights to NATO
After the crash of the Turkish airplane, Turkey and Greece signed an agreement in Madrid, which foresaw both countries to carry out unarmed flights, to report each other the dates of their exercises in the region a year before the exercise and avoid placing these exercises in the tourism season or national-religious holidays. Experts said that these rules have been violated by Greece frequently. Turkey started to report her flights in the international air zone over the Aegean Sea to NATO in order to prove that Turkey is not violating the Greek air zone.
Meanwhile, it was reported that the Greek Mirage 2000 airplane, which crashed just 10 days after the downing of the Turkish F-14, had technical problems.
