People in Northern Iraq started fleeing to the Turkish border, while the war looms. The first flow of refugees from Kirkuk and Mosil, arrived to Duhok. About ten thousand people are reportedly headed towards Hakkari.

Worrying of the U.S. bombardment that might begin any time, people started deserting their homes yesterday morning and reached to Duhok, in 25 km North. Resident of Duhok had a panic over the arrival of thousand people.  Vehicle cues of 15-20 kilometers were formed during the immigration of people. Even though PUK leader Talabani claimed that  Kurds took all measures for the inflow of people, about ten thousand people are headed towards Amadiya, Sersing, Batufa and Begova townships, just across Turkish city Hakkari.
